What is the significance of the paper chain in the background?

On each link of the chain is a comment by a COGS member regarding our vision for COGS. These comments were used by the vision committee to develop a new vision for COGS which ammended states:

Progressive Christians, aspiring to diversity, engaging in service and sincerely friendly.

In addition to passing the vision statement, the congregation voted in the slate of new officers for the coming year which begins July 1.

COGS children gardening and Hospitality outdoors
Sunday, June 13, 2010

In the summer time, Hospitality is held outdoors between worship services - weather permitting.

During the summer months, there are special activities for children during the Sunday School time.
Gardening

This particular Sunday, the children are gardening. All ages are involved.
children_gardening_10jun13_2

Planting involves wet soil i.e. mud

The children really got into it!
Everyone gets a turn

On Sunday June 27, they will be learning about composting. It will involve worms - do you suppose that will be as much fun as the mud?
