James Talley , Nashville singer/songwriter, in concert at COGS, Saturday, January 19, 7:30 p.m., Fellowship Hall presented by the Sandia Heights Coffeehouse Concert Series.  James Talley may live in Nashville, but he has roots in Albuquerque, where he graduated from UNM with a degree in fine arts and worked here for several years. His songs have been covered by such luminaries as Johnny Cash and Alan Jackson, and he performed twice at the White House for President Jimmy Carter. Listening Post Today, and on the first Sunday of each month, the Listening Post will be in operation after the 10:30 service, in the Preschool Office.  In July 2005, we discussed the “Instrument of Peace” through mailings and during a church service.  This will provide a place where concerns & suggestions of members of our congregation can be discussed and questions posed & answered.

 

Forever Young will meet at 11 a.m. this Tuesday, January 8, at the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History, 2000 Mountain Rd. NW. We will tour the exhibit called “Temples and Tombs: Egyptian Art from the British Museum.” Entrance fee: $2.00 for Seniors. After the tour, we will have lunch at a restaurant in Old Town. Carpool leaves COGS at 10:30 a.m. Everyone is invited.
