Now
the eleven disciples went to
When
they saw him, they worshipped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to
them,
“All
authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Go
therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything that I have commanded you.
And
remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Bread for the World’s 2008 Offering of Letters – The
Peace and Justice Committee is participating again this year in Bread for the
World's annual "offering of letters".
We will be asking Congress for more and better poverty-focused
development assistance — funding for programs in the U.S. budget that give
people in poor countries the skills and opportunities to break the cycle of
poverty permanently. These include
investments in things like education, agriculture, nutrition, health and clean
water. Last year, members of COGS and
friends wrote close to 100 letters — we hope to increase that number this
year. Information is on the table and
easel in the hallway. We encourage all
of you to pick up the information, write your letters, and bring them back to
church and drop them in the basket. On
June 15, we will be dedicating the letters and faxing them to your senators and
congresswoman. Thank you for your
participation in this important ministry.
