Focus Scripture    Philippians 4:4-9

Rejoice in God always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone.

God is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication

with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God,

which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, think on these things. Whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, act on these things.

If there be any excellence, or anything worthy of praise, speak of these things.

Keep on doing the things that you have learned and received and heard and seen in me,

and may the God of peace be with you.

While we encourage participation in all four sessions, you are welcome to come for any you are able.  For more information, contact Melissa Jameson, 720-5534.  Series sponsored by
St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.

Summer Special Music at COGSThose of you with special musical talents are invited to choose a Sunday during the summer when you would love to share them.  Please call Kate Sauer at 286-4532 and offer to share your gifts.

Tomato TornadoReady, get set, GO!   5,000 cans of tomatoes; 3,000 packages of pasta – Can we do it?  With your help, we can.

We encourage you to do your own shopping for cans of tomatoes and packages of pasta.  One of the goals of this project is to encourage each person to MAKE AN EFFORT on behalf of the poor.  It is easy to write a check or kick in cash, but doing the actual work of remembering people in need by shopping and lifting is different.  Besides that, people notice when you buy a whole cartful of cans of tomatoes (or packages of pasta)!  It gives each of us a chance to tell the story.  It is a little like making the effort to go to New Orleans on a mission trip.  We could just send money, but GOING is another level of learning.  If you have trouble getting to the store or would like some extra help getting your cans (of tomatoes) or packages (of pasta) to the church, let us know.  ALL MONEY FOR TOMATOES AND PASTA should go through the church books before it is distributed for shopping.  Thank you for your help and support.

Come help us beautify the church at our next
Clean-Up Day!
this Saturday, July 19, 8 a.m. to
12 noon
.  Bring rakes, shovels, and one chainsaw.  Don't forget gloves, hats, and water.  We’ll supply the donuts and coffee.

Welcome

Rev. Francis Rath, (the ABQ “Pope”) to our pulpit for July and part of August.

Also, welcome Cindy Hutchinson,

who will be the worship assistant.
