| Welcome |
 |
Church of the Good Shepherd United Church of Christ welcomes everyone. We try hard not to pretend to have the right to judge anyone else. On the one hand, that brings us the simple joy of receiving God’s love and celebrating that love with one another. That perspective helps us take on the challenge of sharing God’s love with all the world without the motivation of guilt. On the other hand, it may cause some to think we don’t stand for much. If we don’t push guilt and judgement, where do we find our identity? If we don’t base our fellowship on like-mindedness and agreement to certain beliefs, who are we?
We invite you to come find out. The answers aren’t easily reduced to a few words, but they are lived out in our community of faith. We have a deep fellowship based on love which calls us to serve God. We have a theological grounding which encourages open minds and honest questions. We take the Bible seriously rather than literally, and we celebrate a faith which is broad enough for all our differences.
If you are looking for a faith community that proclaims that God’s love embraces all people, you will want to participate in Church of the Good Shepherd.
If you are looking for other people who are willing to challenge one another to grow spiritually, and to be of service to make this world a better home for all in God’s creation, the Church of the Good Shepherd could be what you’re looking for.
We are a church that:
- Takes the Bible seriously, but not literally.
- Worships God with joyful hearts and open minds.
- Includes children in the life and ministry of the church.
- Celebrates creativity and the arts.
- Seeks to be inclusive of ALL people.
- Believes that growth in wisdom and understanding happens at all stages of life.
- Is committed to work for justice for all people and for the environment.
- Cares for one another, laughs easily, and rests in God's love.
- Looks to Jesus as teacher, prophet and Child of God.
Please come visit our progressive, open congregation. The Church of the Good Shepherd would like to welcome you!

| Our Covenant |
 |
In the Lord's name we gather to worship and grow in the Christian tradition
Our mission is
to minster in love to all persons,
to strive for justice and peace,
to seek and respond to God's will.
We worship in sight of the Sandia Mountains
and see the beauty of God's creation.
We strive to bring forth a stewardship that
will sustain this sacred beauty for all generations.
We celebrate our multicultural community
and seek to find harmony and strength in our diversity.
We embrace our motto:
in essentials, unity;
in non-essentials, liberty;
in all things, charity.
To these purposes we unite and covenant with God and one another,
watchful for the guidance of the Holy Spirit,
and thankful for the grace of God.
